A hero is said to be an ordinary person who does extraordinary things, but what is a SUPER hero? Wikipedia says that a superhero is a fictional character "of unprecedented physical prowess dedicated to acts of derring-do in the public interest." I have my own definition of superheroes though and they live among us. They don't have unprecedented physical prowess, although Tennasyn's dance moves, Cole's limberness, Andy's cat-like reflexes and my mom's stamina are all amazing to me. They also are not dedicated to acts of derring-do in the public interest, but rather our private interest. The four of them, with the help from countless others, are my everyday superheroes. They manage to keep me laughing, smiling, dancing, singing, hugging, and loving every day no matter what else life throws my way. They help me to appreciate all that life has to offer. Each caress of my face by tiny hands feels like angels kissing my cheeks. Every smile is like sunshine on my face. Every dance is one that I will never forget. Every hug wraps me in a blanket of love. For me, my superheroes are extraordinary people doing ordinary things.

Thanks for reminding us of the hero all of us have. Although Andrew thinks he's the fictional superhero.
