Halfway there!!

Well I am officially halfway through chemo!!! Clap your hands everybody, everybody clap your hands!! Today's infusion was great and my labs looked fabulous. Looking around at my fellow chemoites, it struck me that cancer has no rules or prejudices. It affects EVERYONE regardless of their age, race, political beliefs, religion, marital status, etc. So many of the people there seem so sad and downtrodden and I feel very sorry for them. But I must admit that after leaving the cancer center, I truly feel like I am one of the lucky ones. This cancer is not going to take anything away from me, except the obvious hair, real boobs, my nipples, but those are just cosmetic issues. It will not ever take my spirit, the love I feel for my friends and family, or my life. I plan to keep living my life to the fullest because it has shown me that no one is guaranteed tomorrow and I want no regrets. Several people there said that they feel like a part of them died when they got their diagnosis and though that is a real feeling and I acknowledge and respect that, I feel that my diagnosis was just the beginning of the rest of my life. It has opened my eyes to so many things that I might have missed otherwise. Every coo from Cole and every word from Tennasyn is that much more precious to me especially since we know that now we will never bring home another newborn from the hospital. We were 99% that Cole completed our family, but that 1% still lingered in the back of my mind of oh maybe we could have 3 kids. God made the decision for us, and I accept that. I feel so blessed with the two most precious children on the planet (ok I am biased.) Tennasyn is talking up a storm and might be more knowledgeable that her years should allow. Some of you have heard this, but Tennasyn likes to tell people everywhere we go that "her mommy doesn't have any hair or nipples." You should see the checkout ladies' faces when she tell them. It is truly priceless....ahh children!! Christine sent me the book The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch and I strongly encourage you to read it. It is an amazing book and an even more amazing legacy to his children. I thought it would take the whole session today to finish, but no, I raced through it and couldn't put it down. Thanks Christine!! Anyway, all is quiet on the Western front until the end of the weekend when Mom comes up with my kids. She, Dad and Scott graciously agreed to keep them through the weekend so I could rest. It is crazy, I have a quiet house and can rest, but I really miss my babies!!! Thank you as always for the prayers, love and support. I am praying for each of you as well and asking God to grant you peace and whatever you may be needing at this moment.
