Diagnosis

Dear Friends and Family,

I just wanted to let you all know that I was diagnosed with breast cancer (infiltrating mammary carcinoma) yesterday. The pathology report says that the tumor has a low histologic grade and low proliferation rate. It is small so the doctors say that the prognosis looks good. I have an MRI scheduled for Monday afternoon and am meeting with 2 surgeons next week to discuss our next steps. We are taking it one step at a time and are praying that it can all be fixed with a lumpectomy. I have to stop breastfeeding immediately which is killing me since I was planning to breastfeed Cole much longer. The next few nights are going to be long since we are quitting so abruptly. Please keep us in your prayers and we will send updates as we know them.
